Star College Class of 2024 Shines with 100% Pass Rate and Exceptional Results Across Campuses

Star College's 2024 matriculants have once again proven their excellence, with remarkable results across all campuses. From Cape Town to Pretoria and Durban, students achieved 100% pass rates and demonstrated exceptional academic prowess, setting a new standard of success.

In Cape Town, Star College achieved a 100% pass rate, with 95.5% of students securing Bachelor’s degree passes. A total of 53 A’s were awarded to the class of 2024, with one standout student earning 6 A’s and three others securing 5 A’s each. 

At Star College Bridgetown (Cape Town), 40 students excelled with a 100% pass rate, and 90% of the cohort achieved Bachelor’s degree passes. The class earned 138 distinctions, with one student achieving 10 A’s, five students earning 8 A’s, and three students securing 6 A’s. Subjects such as Physical Science, Religious Studies, and Life Sciences stood out with impressive A-level performances.

In Durban, Star College’s largest campus, 104 matriculants celebrated a perfect 100% pass rate, with 94% of students earning Bachelor’s degree passes. The Durban class achieved an impressive 363 distinctions, with the highest achievers including one student who earned 9 A’s, 11 students with 8 A’s, and 8 students securing 7 A’s each. Physical Science and Mathematics saw notable performances, with 22 out of 83 students and 21 out of 90 students achieving A’s, respectively. Subjects such as Information Technology and Tourism also saw impressive results, with the majority of students earning A’s. The overall results reflected the strength of the school's academic programs.

Star College Pretoria recorded a 98.2% pass rate among its 53 matriculants, with 83.09% earning Bachelor passes and a total of 52 distinctions awarded.

Among the top achievers, Mikaeel Hassim from Star Durban celebrated his 7 A’s and expressed his joy, saying, “I am beyond overjoyed to share that I achieved 7 As in my matric final exams! This accomplishment was not without hard work, countless late nights, and the unwavering support of my parents, whose sacrifices have been my greatest motivation.h Inspired by my father’s passion for helping others, I will be studying Dentistry at UWC, hoping to use my skills to make a positive impact in my community. To the Class of 2025: Stay focused, work hard, and keep pushing your boundaries. Successe comes from dedication and perseverance—give this year your all!.” Similarly, Ayeesha Siddiqa Khan from Star Durban, who also achieved 7 distinctions, shared her gratitude for her teachers and family, highlighting the collective effort that contributed to her success.

Harshil Bhagwandhin, another Durban top achiever, reflected on the journey: “My 2024 Matric journey was nothing short of a roller coaster, filled with success, failure, endless study sessions and lots of laughter. Matric is a year where hard work is always more important than your intelligence and therefore, I am immensely proud of my results. My heartfelt thanks goes out to all the educators and staff at Star College for their commendable efforts and dedication to all the matric students, my parents for giving me the opportunity to achieve these results as well as my family and friends for their endless support and motivation throughout the year. My advice for the grade 11 and 12’s is that having a consistent work ethic will guarantee your success throughout your schooling career.”

“Reflecting on a matric journey filled with challenges and triumphs - I am deeply grateful and humbled at the results I achieved. Breathing a sigh of relief – albeit for a moment – it is gratifying to witness the culmination of years of dogged discipline, dedication, diligence and sacrifice produce such pleasing outcomes. What is deemed my success - is no individual effort but the work of a loving family and a group of devoted educators at Star College.” Talia Nair from Star Durban, who achieved 8A shared her feelings.

One of the most notable achievements came from AQIL HEERALALL of Durban, who earned the prestigious 3rd position in KwaZulu-Natal. His dedication and hard work were celebrated by the school, and Principal Ahmet Kayya expressed his pride in the learners’ achievements, stating, “This success is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our educators and the resilience of our learners.”
