FREEDOM DAY celebrations in BULGARIA
Some 600 people attended a special Freedom Day reception in Sofia, Bulgaria marking the 20th Anniversary of diplomatic relations. Deputy Minister Thabang Makwetla (pictured), who studied in Bulgaria in the 1980’s, spoke on behalf of the South African government and Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov (pictured) addressed the guests on behalf of the Bulgarian government. The Sangena group of Zulu dancers, who were visiting Sofia for the week of South African culture, entertained the gathering. Also on the platform, Ambassador Sheila Camerer and the Deputy Defence Minister of Bulgaria Ms Avgustina Tsvetkova.
