Enchanted Celebration 2018

Diplomatic Council members and their guests enjoyed a fabulous summer celebration with numerous festive moments, cultural highlights, and a delicious summer barbecue.

The highly gifted violinist, pianist and coloratura soprano inflamed a musical fireworks in the breath-taking scenery of the former castle of Empress Victoria Friedrich. The soft sounds of the violin played by DC member Marc Ruberg accompanied by DC member Albert Frantz transported its audience into the world of divine music. The exceptionally talented coloratura soprano Karine Minasyan performing Puccini and Strauss let the hearts of all guests beat faster. The unique ambience combined with history to touch and feel created an inspirational atmosphere that connected members and guests.

Vietnam was the official partner country of this year’s Diplomatic Council Summer Celebration. H.E. Doan Xuan Hung, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Diplomatic Council member, delivered a significant keynote speech on his country and at the same time emphasised the good relationship between Germany and Vietnam.

Vietnam Airlines presented its large range of services and offered two air tickets to Vietnam. The happy winners were handed over their business class and economy class tickets by the general manager of Vietnam airlines together with the Vietnamese ambassador.

Diplomatic Council Founding President, H.E. Ambassador Buddhi Athauda delivered an impressive speech on UNESCO. Just a few days before he was elected to one of four seats available for the Asia-Pacific, in the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage, for the period 2018-2022. The election took place in Paris during the 7th General Assembly of UNESCO. All Diplomatic Council members are very proud.

Secretary General Hang Nguyen charmingly guided through the afternoon and evening program. She also shared with all guests the vision and values and stressed the importance of the Diplomatic Council’s „Spirit of Openness, Friendship and Peace“.

The picturesque ambience of the castle Schlosshotel Kronberg contributed to making the summer celebration an amazing event. Built under commission from Empress Victoria Friedrich and completed in 1893, Schloss Friedrichshof is today one of the most impressive German castles and offers its guests living history to touch and feel. Exclusive furnishings and an impressive collection of antiques and paintings from the private estate of the mother of the last Kaiser convey the authentic ambience of a castle from imperial times.

The barbecue was served on the beautiful castle terraces accompanied by “blue-blooded” wines produced by the winery of the Prince of Hesse. Following the official event, many guests continued celebrating at legendary Jimmy’s Bar inside the castle hotel until the early morning.
