Romanian pianist participates in the 13th UNISA International Piano Competition

Unisa has been presenting international music competitions since 1982, including piano, strings, voice, flute, clarinet and organ.

Daniel Petrica Ciobanu, the Romanian pianist was a finalist at the 13th UNISA International Piano Competition 2016, which took place from 25 January – 6 February 2016 at the ZK Matthews Great Hall.

Daniel Petrica Ciobanu is enrolled for his final Masters year at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under the tutelage of Aaron Shorr. He has won a Yamaha Europe Scholarship, as well as prizes at the Piano Campus Competition (Paris), the Andre Dumortier International Competition (Belgium), the Montrond les Bains International Competition (France) and First Prize at the Morocco Philharmonic International Piano Concerto Competition.

 

He has performed with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra Philarmonique du Maroc. the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and had master classes with Steven Osborne, Richard Goode. ldil Biret and ian Fountain.
