Home Affairs extends temporary visa concession

Just a day after being sworn in, the new South African Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Leon Schreiber, has extended the temporary concession for foreign nationals who are currently awaiting the outcome of visa, waiver and appeal applications.
The extension safeguards applicants, including those who are contributing to South Africa through their scarce skills, from suffering adverse consequences or being erroneously declared undesirable while they await the outcome of applications submitted to the department.

Now the work begins: South African DP, Ministers and Deputy Ministers sworn in

Addressing members of the media following the swearing-in ceremony, President Ramaphosa said the ceremony was a historic moment.
“It has been a very difficult and complicated process. It’s now come to an end and to a start. It’s a fresh start for all of us in South Africa. Today was a historic moment in constituting the Executive of our country in the form of Ministers and Deputy Ministers, who have all collectively been assuring me… that they are going to work and they are going to make South Africans proud.
“The trust that our people have invested in all these men and women... We will not waste time. We will work very hard to take our country forward,” he said

Embrace the Spirit of the Steppes at the World Nomad Games

By Yerkin Akhinzhanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of South Africa

It is widely recognised that preserving cultural heritage is crucial, as it shapes a nation’s identity and defines its future. Countries around the world have maintained historical sites, protected languages, and conserved natural sites. In Central Asia, the protection of cultural heritage is equally important, given the region’s rich and diverse history, which dates back to the 3rd millennium BCE.
As the summer sun begins its descent and the breeze of autumn sweeps across the Kazakh steppe, Astana will come alive with the spirit of our nomadic ancestors as we host the Fifth World Nomad Games from September 8-13. This event will transform our vibrant capital into a bustling arena of culture, competition, and camaraderie. I am thrilled to extend a heartfelt invitation to South Africa to join us in celebrating this grand event.
