The date of May 25 has a double evocative power. On the memorial level, it takes us back to the youthful freshness of the first moments of the OAU. At the geopolitical and institutional level, it constantly questions our individual and collective capacity to build the Africa then dreamed of by our founding fathers.
In the trajectory of its evolution, the OAU transformed into the African Union, thus manifesting a paradigm shift for strategic adjustment and operational efficiency with the sole objective of giving substance and consistency to "the Africa we want".

SA and Germany commit to improved bilateral relations

The Federal Republic of Germany has committed to support South Africa’s efforts towards industrialisation, infrastructure development and job creation as laid out in the Economic Reconstruction and Recovery Plan. President Cyril Ramaphosa told this to the media following bilateral talks with his German Counterpart, Chancellor Olaf Scholz, at the Union Buildings in Pretoria. President Ramaphosa and Chancellor Scholz also spoke extensively on supporting young people and integrating them into the workplace. Another important area of cooperation between the two countries is that of vocational training and how young people can be more effectively integrated into the world of work. “There is much we can learn from the German mode of dual education and how German companies integrate the training of young people in the working environment,” he said.
SA, Botswana conclude successful Bi-National Commission

The Republic of South Africa and Botswana have concluded a successful 5th session of the Bi-National Commission (BNC) between the two countries, aimed at renewing and strengthening bilateral relations and multilateral cooperation. At the invitation of President Cyril Ramaphosa, Botswana President, Dr Mokgweetsi Eric Masisi, paid a working visit to South Africa on the occasion of the 5th Session of the Bi-National Commission.
Greater economic prosperity for SA and Guinea Bissau

Trade and investment relationships between South Africa and Guinea Bissau are being deepened, says President Cyril Ramaphosa. “Greater economic prosperity should underpin everything that we do and this is what we intend to focus on as we deepen our relations between our two countries. Our goal for this State Visit has been to deepen trade and investment between South Africa and Guinea Bissau,“ said the President. The President was speaking to the media following a state visit by Guinea Bissau President General Umaro Sissoco Embaló and a delegation of his Ministers.
Cultural exchange unites diverse cultures

Diverse cultures converged at the Korean Culture Centre on 20 May 2022 to attend an event co-hosted by the Korean Culture Centre and South African Royal Princesses Network themed, “connecting cultures through cultural exchange”. In attendance were members of the Diplomatic corps and members of the South African Royal Princesses Network from across the country. Dignitaries included the Founder of the Diplomatic Society Mr Kirtan Bhana and the CEO of Freedom Park, Ms Jane Mufumadi. Various Kingdoms and nations were represented including Venda, Tsonga, Thembu, Rharhabe, Mpondo, Swati, Shangaan, Ndebele Zulu, Pedi, Tswana.
