The developing countries can barely be an influence over the weight of the powerful states in the world of superpowers. It is an unquestionable phenomena to even demand our existence in comparison to the latter. However great they may be; Bhutan being a small dot in the world is a great source of international influence to the world through its “Gross National Happiness” policy.

COP21 is solar’s big chance to show what it can offer

In two months, international negotiators will gather in Paris for the long-awaited COP21 climate conference. Technocratic as the event sounds, on the table is nothing less than a new international agreement to keep global warming within the 2°C generally believed to be the ‘safe’ upper limit to prevent runaway climate change.
Hopes are high that after several failed attempts, Paris 2015 will yield what all but the die-hard climate change deniers have been hoping for now for years: a new legally binding climate change accord to replace the 1997 Kyoto protocol that expires in 2020.

Botswana, a good place to invest

25 Years of German Unification

 German Ambassador in South Africa, Mr Walter Lindner and his partner Laura Sustersic hosted a reception at their official residence in Pretoria to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of German reunification. Pictured with Ambassador Lindner is Deputy Minister Luwellyn Landers of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa.
The German Foreign Office organized a hands-on project called “Together for unity” that happened simultaneously around the globe. Giant jigsaw puzzles, over 25 square meters in size and shaped like a map of Germany, were designed and assembled around October 3, 2015.

Power and dynamic energy shared by the Republic of Korea and South Africa

 Celebrating the National Day of the Republic of Korea are Ambassador Yeon Ho Choi and Mrs Youngja Shim with Ms Dipuo Peters, Minister of Transport for South Africa. In his remarks Ambassador Yeon Ho Choi said, "People-to-people contacts are increasing steadily as well. South Korea can become a huge market for the South African tourism industry. Last year, almost 13,000 Koreans visited South Africa, mainly for business and tourism. Koreans visiting South Africa are mesmerized by this country's natural beauty, rich arts and culture and warm-hearted people. Through these people-to-people contacts, I am glad to run into many South Africans on the streets, at shopping malls and at the airports saying Korean greetings like “안녕하세요? 감사합니다.”

Embassy of Suriname hands over gifts

 Women's month is celebrated on 9 August in South Africa and August is commemorated as Women's month.
The Embassy of Suriname in Pretoria, recognising the important role played by women in society, visited the Hercules Clinic in Pretoria North on 17 September 2015 to donate hampers for mother and childcare.
Ambassador of Suriname, Prof. Dr. Wilfried R. Roseval, the First Secretary Consular Affairs, Mrs. Lucil Drielinger- Fernandes and two local employees, namely Mrs. Sina Maria Mnguni and Mr. Josias Maribeng were present at the handover ceremony. The logistical and substantive preparation of this visit was successfully monitored by the First Secretary, Mrs. C. Wijnhard- Pique with the assistance of the local employees.
