World renowned Sushi Master Chef Masayoshi Kazato of Japan was in South Africa in September to share his Sushi secrets.
This commendable initiative by The Ocean Basket franchise and their soy sauce partner Yamasa will contribute to developing new skills and acquiring an ancient knowledge. It will also create a platform to for innovation while enhancing the abilities of their staff to deliver a professional service and well prepared food.
Kazato, who began his career at the age of 20, presented a unique seminar for sushi lovers and chefs to learn the history of sushi, essential knife skills and expert preparation techniques at The Venue in Melrose Arch, Gauteng.

The collaboration saw acclaimed dancers from both countries bring a vast wealth of experience and expertise to the performance. The opening was attended by Speaker of the South African Parliament, Ms. Baleka Mbete, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Cuba, Ms. Ana Teresita Gonzalez Fraga and Ambassador of Cuba to South Africa Carlos Fernandez de Cossio.

The BloodHound simulator for the car that will attempt the land speed record in South Africa was on display at an event hosted by the British High Commissioner to South Africa, Judith Macgregor on Tuesday 9 September, to celebrate the South African and UK partnerships.
With the focus on youth development and creating future leaders, Dave Rowley, the Education Director at the Bloodhound SCC Engineering Adventure is tasked with creating excitement and fun around the science and mathematics of the project in the hope of inspiring young learners
Present at the event was the UK Minister for Africa Mr James Duddrigde who was in South Africa as part of the celebration of Future Leaders
