The end of resistance and struggle
|
“It’s time to get on with the loving and stop fighting each other and terrorising each other,” is the message of Honourable Douglas Lincoln, Minister of Art and Multiculturalism of Trinidad and Tobago (T&T). He was speaking at the celebration of 20 years of Diplomatic relations between South Africa and Trinidad and Tobago and 20 years of freedom in South Africa. He said that he continues to share with his cabinet colleagues that the Art and Culture Ministry is the most important in the government. It is the department responsible for giving people a platform to express their sense of identity, of who they are, where they’ve been and where they are going. Culture is the foundation of any civilization, he went on to explain.

R50 000 Diplomatic donation helps people help themselves

Just across the road from the richest square mile in Africa is the South African town of Alexandra.
It is here in Alexandra that the women’s group of the Diplomatic Corps based in South Africa visited projects which care for grandmother and child-headed homes. The group, led by H.E Ms. Blanka Fajkusova, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to South Africa and Treasurer of the Diplomatic Corps, were given the opportunity to experience the difference their R50 000 donation and partnership with Ratang Bana – Future for Children, and the Leratong Joy for One Foundation had made.
