Pursuit of Political rights together with Economic rights

President Obama pledged increased collaboration with the African Union
United States President, H.E. Barack Obama with the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma in Johannesburg, South Africa - 29 June, 2013
“We stand ready and eager to work with the African Union for the best engagement of the United States with Africa. If there is a strong African Union, any help that is provided by the US becomes more effective than us doing things on our own.” United States President, H.E. Barack Obama told the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma when they met in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 29 June 2013.
President Obama also highlighted the great opportunity existing for cooperation with Africa in various areas under the leadership of the AUC Chairperson.
Being the maiden official encounter between the Chairperson of the African Union Commission and a sitting US President, Dr. Dlamini Zuma and President Barack Obama exchanged views on areas of mutual interest aimed at boosting the AU-US partnership. (African Union)
Philippine Food Fiesta
HE Constancio R. Vingno, Jr., Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines, The Peermont Hotels, Casinos and Resorts, Makati Shangri –La Manila chefs and The Mama Sita Foundation presented the Flavours of Philippines Food Festival at Aurelia’s Restaurant at the Emperors Palace Complex in Ekhuruleni, South Africa on 24 June 2013. A Traditional Philippine Dinner was served and the menu was inspired by Teresita Reyes.
Lesotho's Sehlabathebe National Park given UN World Heritage Status
Mount Fuji was recognized on 22 June 2013 as a United Nation educational and cultural agency's World Heritage site, along with seven others on a list that for the first time includes sites in Fiji and Qatar. The Committee also honoured Lesotho's Sehlabathebe National Park as an extension to the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park in South Africa, which is now to be named Maloti Drakensberg Tranboundary World Heritage Site. Members praised the "spectacularly beautiful watershed area" that hosts flora and fauna of scientific importance. It is also home to three endangered species, the Maloti Minnow, a species of fish found only in the Park, and the Cape and Bearded Vultures.
The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization's (UNESCO) World Heritage Committee, meeting this month in Cambodia, is reviewing 32 proposed sites and reviewing several already on the list.
