Speaking at the Ekurhuleni Captains of Industry Forum (COIF), Minister for Trade and Development for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) enlightened the over 100 Captains of industry and business people gathered, about the extraordinary opportunities available in his country.
The DRC is strategically located in the heart of Africa bordering nine countries and is the second largest country in Africa.
Endowed with precious resources and minerals, water, hydro energy and vast tracks of arable agricultural land the DRC is in the process of rebuilding its economy.
The Minister’s detailed presentation described how the many challenges that face the DRC could be viewed as opportunities for innovators and entrepreneurs, inviting business to invest there.
With South Africa in particular he pointed out that 34 bilateral agreements had been concluded.     
These included the convention on Double Tax and the protection of investment among others; that guide and facilitate business activity.
Chris van Biljon CEO of COIF encouraged the forum members to engage the panel, network and seek out the opportunities that exist in the DRC.
