Early Christmas for the children in Mbizana

Princess Stella Sigcau II of the Mpondo Kingdom donated clothes and toys to children and orphans of wards 23 and 24 in Mbizana at an event held on 11 December 2022 at the Trauma Centre at the Police Station in Mzamba in Mbizana. The event was facilitated by local business woman Ms Nozi Sogoni, CEO of Nozibele Solutions who is also the local representative of the Leading Like Mandela Foundation.

The event is part of the initiatives of the 16 days of activism that sought to fight GBV through also empowerment that Ms Sogoni and Princess Sigcau collaborated on. Princess Stella Sigcau II is the founder of the South African Royal Princesses Network an association of Princesses from various parts of South Africa whose mandate also includes playing an active role in the empowerment of rural communities as well as in the fight against GBV. As the Network they kicked off the 16 days of Activism with the hike against GBV.

On welcoming the guests on behalf of the Police Station, Sergeant Mphahlwa expressed her gratitude and stated that it was good that people came to the police station for good things and that it is important to fight GBV through empowerment. She appealed to the children to stay away from a life of crime, focus on their studies and never take for granted initiatives by people to empower them.

Ms Nozie Sogoni, informed that it was important for business people to play an active role in ploughing back to communities and thanked Princess Stella Sigcau II and the Wild Coast Sun for their contribution. The Wild Coast Sun had donated food packages. Princess Stella Sigcau II spoke at great length on GBV and emphasized the importance of people to play and active role in the fight against GBV, speaking against GBV and also to report it when it takes place. She also stated that it was important for various stakeholders including government, business, communities, Traditional Leaders to work together in fighting and uprooting GBV from our communities and for Traditional practices that contribute to GBV to be done away with. She is working also on the donation of food parcels and blankets for the elderly women in Ntabankulu with Social Development as part of the 16 days of activism campaign.
