Minara Chamber of Commerce calls on High Commissioner

A six member delegation led by Ebrahim Patel, President Minara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Durban, called on H.E. Najm us Saqib, the High Commissioner of Pakistan to South Africa in Pretoria to discuss ways and means to increase  collaboration in commerce and devise a plan of action for activities in 2016. Vice President Ebrahim Vawda, Board Secretary Razak Jooma and CEO of Johannesburg Chapter M Sheraz were in attendance. Commercial Secretary Qamar Zaman also attended the meeting which was followed by a lunch hosted by the High Commissioner.

During the meeting, it was decided to establish Minara's structured relationship Pakistani Chambers of commerce in order for businessmen of both the countries to enhance and diversify their respective businesses. It was also agreed that Pakistan High Commission, in collaboration with  Minara Chamber, would organize a Seminar in August, 2016 to seek investment from the South African business community. Pakistan High Commission had organized one such well attended and well received event in April, 2015. Pakistan will also organize a single country exhibition in Durban in 2016.

Minara, a Durban based Chamber of Commerce, has its members mainly from the South African Muslim business community. The Chamber enjoys cordial relations with Pakistan High Commission.

South Africa is the largest trading partner of Pakistan in the African continent and Pakistani High Commission is pursuing an aggressive marketing strategy to promote Pakistani good in the Southern African markets.
