The High Commission of Canada in SA Commemorates Mandela Day

To commemorate Mandela Day, High Commissioner Gaston Barban and staff, in partnership with Hope Alive, a community-based organisation working with vulnerable groups, spent a day doing community outreach in Mamelodi West. At the Pheladi-Nakene Primary School, High Commission staff sorted donated clothing and shoes and handed them to families from the community. Entertainment was provided for the children – face painting was very popular! The children were also introduced to Canada through a road hockey practice. The event ended with snack and drinks.
