Visit by DHA Deputy Minister Chohan to Philippines

The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Hon. Fatima Chohan, accompanied by her delegation consisting of DDG Jackson Mckay, Mr Sulleiman Hancock, Mr Rodney Marhule, Ms Sylvia Matona, and Ms. Sunita Dalla, visited Manila on 2-3 April 2014.  The main purpose of the visit was to review the Home Affairs processes and procedures and also empower the staff on how best to service the public based on the Batho Pele Principle.  Deputy Minister Fatima Chohan also paid a courtesy call on her counterpart, the Justice Undersecretary Francisco Baraan III.  The staff appreciated this visit as they gained first-hand knowledge and clarity on visa and permit related issues.

The delegation was also given a glimpse of the history of the Philippines as they were treated to a dinner at the historical Intramuros “Walled City” in old Manila.
