Video clips to reach wide audience in Turkey

Following the familiarisation trip to South Africa for 8 Turkish journalists in the field of tourism, economics and politics which took place on 23 September – 3 October 2013, the Ataman Erkul (AE) Productions team has already begun broadcasting video clips on ferries in Istanbul, which is estimated to reach an audience of approximately 3 million people. In addition, the trip has resulted in extensive media coverage in local newspapers, which emphasizes the bilateral relations between South Africa and Turkey in the field of politics and economics, and the potential that exists to strengthen relations even further through people-to-people interaction.

The initiative, organised by the South African Embassy in Ankara Turkey, hopes to raise the media profile of South Africa in Turkey, and establish a level of knowledge and understanding between the two countries. The project was successfully carried out by the Embassy and sponsors included Turkish Airlines, Sun International, Rovos Rail, Gauteng Tourism Authority, KwaZulu-Natal Tourism, Mango Airlines and Cape Town Tourism
