SA Honorary Consul appointed to Nepal

 

 

Mr Pradeep  Kumar Shrestha, The Honorary Consul of South Africa to Nepal and H.E. Geoff Doidge High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa

The Honorary Consul of South Africa is Mr Pradeep Shrestha and he has received an award for his contribution to the FICAC (International Federation of Consular Associations) at a function held in Colombo on 12 August 2013.

The relationship with Nepal is in its growing stages. South Africa has identified the current potential in Nepal especially building up its political stance by sharing the experiences of TRC (Truth & Reconciliation Commission) and beyond.
 
On bilateral trade opportunities in the mining, travel and tourism and niche market products and breweries such as brandy are products & services thate both countries could trade.
 
Currently an Air Services agreement is being established between the two countries and South Africa has proposed a Memorandum of Understanding to the Aeronautical Authority of Nepal in the month of June 2013. This is currently in the consideration of the Government of Nepal and both countries look forward to enhancing mutual and beneficial trade prospects.

As Nepal is looking forward to the elections South Africa is keen to monitor their elections as well.
