PHILIPPINES: Ambassadors Model for Charity

Ambassador Malai Yussof and Ambassador Agnes Nyamande-Pitso modeling the Filipiňana wear

On 28 May 2013
Ambassador Agnes Nyamande-Pitso joined other Ambassadors and their Spouses in the  “Global Fashion Flair”, a fundraising modeling activity organized by the  Spouses of the Heads of Mission in the Philippines (SHOM) headed by Madame Gretchen Del Rosario, wife of the Philippine Foreign Secretary.

This event was held at the ballroom of the Marriott Hotel in Resorts World, Manila. All the female ‘models’ strutted on the catwalk dressed in the latest cocktail and long gown and Filipiňana collection from the Ladies Fashion of the SM’s Kultura shop, the shop for all things Filipino that showcases local artistry and craftsmanship and Fashion Forum store; while the male “models” paraded the runway in the Philippine Barong which came in different designs and colours and also supplied by Kultura.  All accessories worn by the ‘models’ were provided by SM Accessories. This event coincided with the celebration of the Philippine Heritage Month.

Male Ambassadors getting ready to strut on the ramp

After hours and days of preparation the day came to deliver a stunning event.  The “models” delivered a show like no other as they had stylish moves to entertain the guests.

The highlight of the event was the Mr Washington Sycip, Founder of SGV and Company who is a renowned businessman and philanthropist, graced the occasion.

Overall the participants were well entertained as “models’ gave an entertaining show to give the audience value for their money.  The ‘models’ presented an act which will surely be hard to follow by real models.  The trick was to have fun while strutting on the runway.  At the end of the show, with sore feet here and there, everybody was proud of the contribution made for this great cause.

Proceeds generated from this fashion show will be used to give scholarships for deserving underprivileged children; financial support for the elderly; and for abused and abandoned children.
