"It is time for us to align our speed with technological developments. I believe in the effectiveness of digital marketing to help further penetrate the African market", said the Indonesian Ambassador in Pretoria, Salman Al-Farisi on the sidelines of the Annual Global Business Roundtable (GBR) World Congress & Exhibition Exhibition on March 27-29 2019 in Johannesburg.

The Indonesian Embassy in Pretoria and the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Johannesburg participated in the GBR Exhibition by holding a booth showcasing Indonesian products, including manufactured products in the automotive sector, shoes, food and beverage products. In addition, the Indonesian booth also promoted the “10 New Bali", and the Trade Expo Indonesia, which will be held in Jakarta in October 2019.

An e-commerce company from Indonesia, PT. Global Ecosystem Solutions attended this exhibition for the first time to promote their Glexindo platform. Glexindo.com is an online marketplace for selling various Indonesian products. In this event, Glexindo showcased samples of numerous MSME products including batik, snacks, and authentic Indonesian crafts. HEI salt-watered energized lamps, which were also brought from Jakarta, attracted the attention of many visitors who attended the GBR Expo.

Interest from the South African market was also shown by the request for media interviews and the Ambassador took advantage of these to further introduce Indonesia's products and potentials that are still foreign to the South African market. The Ambassador believes that with the trust and long history of linkages between Indonesia and South Africa in the past, the potential for increased bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various sectors are still wide open.

The annual Global Business Roundtable (GBR) Exhibition and Congress’ mission is to build a network of business people from various sectors. The theme for this year's event was "Achieving Sustainable Global Economic Growth and Equitable Distribution of Resources".
