Science, Technology and Environment Cooperation between South Africa and Argentina

The Scientific and Technological Cooperation between South Africa and Argentina was further enhanced by the visit of Dr. Lino Baranao, Argentine Minister of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation to South Africa.

The high level delegation visit from the 1st to the 5th of April had fruitful deliberations on several issues on bilateral collaboration.

These include joint activities in nanotechnologies and biotechnology, space and nuclear technology and marine scientific research.

The Vice President of INVAP Hugo Albani was part of the delegation.

INVAP is a company devoted to design and construction of complex technological systems focused on Nuclear, Aerospace, Government & Defence, and Industrial and Medical equipment.

 

 

 

 

 

 

In keeping with the ocean economy the possibilities of synergies between Argentina’s Initiative Pampa Azul and South Africa’s Operation Phakisa with regards to Marine research were also explored.

Cooperation and collaboration between the research institutions were strengthened during discussions between South Africa’s Minister Naledi Pandor for Science and Technology and Minister Edna Molewa of Environmental Affairs.
