Pakistan Fan Manufacturers and Exporters Association visits South Africa

At the invitation of the Pakistan High Commission, a nine member delegation of Fan Manufacturers and Exporters Association of Pakistan arrived in Pretoria for a week long business visit to South Africa. Headed by Mr. Azhar Aslam, Chairman of the Trade body, the delegation, on their first ever visit to South Africa, will meet the local businessmen; study the market and explore new avenues of mutual economic, investment and trade cooperation. Trade Development Authority has sponsored the visit.

The delegation will be visiting major business cities like Johannesburg, Pietermaritzburg and Durban besides holding detailed meetings at local chambers of these cities including the Minara Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Major Fan Brands of Pakistan including Belwin, Royal, GFC, Super Asia, Parwaz, Indus, Brighto and Staroc are part of the delegation. Last year, South Africa imported fans worth US$ 20 million. Pakistani businessmen would like to increase their share of exports from the existing less than 1%.

The delegation spent a hectic day in Pretoria that included detailed briefings organized by the Pakistan High Commission and KZN Trade and Investment. The delegation also held one-on-one meetings with the local business community members.

During his detailed briefing to the delegation, High Commissioner Najm us Saqib, inter alia, highlighted the opportunities available in South Africa and how Pakistani businessmen could utilize these opportunities to the benefit of business communities of both countries. He assured the delegates that the Pakistan High Commission would be available for any facilitation and assistance that might help the delegation in making their visit a success.

Mr. Azhar Aslam, Chairman of the Fan Association expressed deep gratitude to the High Commissioner and his team for planning their visit to South Africa and for their warm hospitality.

The programme devised and organized by Commercial Secretary Mr. Qamar Zaman, is also aimed at providing maximum exposure and knowledge of the African market to the delegates.

The African continent especially Southern Africa  is increasingly becoming an important export destination for Pakistani goods and exports from Pakistan in the Sub-Saharan Africa are on the increase.
