Screening of Mr Kaplan

The Embassy of Uruguay in Pretoria held a screening of Alvaro Brechner’s award winning film, Mr. Kaplan at the Open Window School of Film Arts in Centurion, Tshwane.

The film was introduced by Uruguayan born Director Alvaro Brechner who gave the audience an insight into the making of the movie.

Mr Kaplan also played at the Grahamstown National Arts Festival that took place from 2 to 12 July this year.

In the movie Mr.Kaplan (76), is a Jew who fled to Uruguay from the Nazis as a child. Wanting to find meaning for his life Mr Kaplan teams up with Contreras, who was expelled from the police, to expose a man who they set out to prove is a Nazi.

Mr Kaplan is gentle paced story of two comical men, their bumbling investigative tactics and unexpected findings.
