South Africa’s 21st Freedom Day Celebrations in Algiers

On Sunday, 26 April 2015, the South African Embassy in Algeria successfully hosted South Africa’s 21st National Day Celebrations at the Sofitel Hotel in Algiers.

The key note address was delivered by Ambassador Dennis T Dlomo under the theme, “Celebrating the beginning of the Third Decade of our Freedom through Accelerating Radical Economic Transformation."

The Embassy also utilised this event to promote South Africa as a tourist and investment destination.” In light of the recent developments in the country, the Embassy utilised the celebrations to restate that we are Africans and government condemns the violence against our brothers and sisters from the continent. The celebrations were attended by the business, political, thought, religious, youth and community leaders and the diplomatic corps.
