US Secretary of State John Kerry arrives in Sri Lanka on historic visit

Colombo, May 2
US Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Sri Lanka a short while ago with a US delegation of 35 delegates for a two day official visit from May 2nd to 3rd on the invitation of Sri Lanka's Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera. US Secretary Kerry will pay a courtesy call on President Maithripala Sirisena of Sri Lanka. He will meet with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera. He is scheduled to visit a Buddhist temple to inaugurate a Vesak pandal and also to lay the foundation stone for the construction of the new US Embassy in Colombo.
