Book Discussion on 'Battles of the New Republic: A Contemporary History of Nepal”

The South Asian University (SAU) along with the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, hosted a major book discussion on Nepal.  Prashant Jha, a renowned journalist from Nepal spoke about his newly published book 'Battles of the New Republic: A Contemporary History of Nepal ‘at the university. In light of the large number of students who participated in the discussion overwhelmingly endorsed the speeches delivered by Prashant Jha, a renowned journalist from Nepal accompanied by Jayant Prasad, former Indian Ambassador to Nepal about his newly published book. The discussion between the well-known intellectuals and the students was facilitated by Dr .Mallika Shakya, Assistant Professor Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences of the South Asian University.  The occasion was well-attended with a vibrant discussion from the participants. Sri Lankan High Commissioner Professor Sudharshan Seneviratne was among the distinguished participants at the discussion.  Among the well-known academics Professor Sasanka Perera, Chairman, Department of Sociology, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Department of International Relations Siddharth Mallavarapum and Professor R.G.
