Book Discussion on 'Battles of the New Republic: A Contemporary History of Nepal”

The South Asian University (SAU) along with the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, hosted a major book discussion on Nepal.  Prashant Jha, a renowned journalist from Nepal spoke about his newly published book 'Battles of the New Republic: A Contemporary History of Nepal ‘at the university. In light of the large number of students who participated in the discussion overwhelmingly endorsed the speeches delivered by Prashant Jha, a renowned journalist from Nepal accompanied by Jayant Prasad, former Indian Ambassador to Nepal about his newly published book. The discussion between the well-known intellectuals and the students was facilitated by Dr .Mallika Shakya, Assistant Professor Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences of the South Asian University.  The occasion was well-attended with a vibrant discussion from the participants. Sri Lankan High Commissioner Professor Sudharshan Seneviratne was among the distinguished participants at the discussion.  Among the well-known academics Professor Sasanka Perera, Chairman, Department of Sociology, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Department of International Relations Siddharth Mallavarapum and Professor R.G. Harshe from South Asian University attended the insightful discussion.
