Pakistan 70th Independence Day celebrated at Crawford Pretoria Preparatory

The High Commission of Pakistan celebrated their Independence Day on 14 August by presenting a programme at the Preparatory assembly.

The programme included a traditional dance performance and prayer recital.

The High Commissioner of Pakistan, His Excellency Mr. Sohail Khan, addressed the pupils and teachers by highlighting the achievements of Pakistan since independence.He also welcomed Crawford Pretoria as a member of the South African Pakistan family, as several of our pupils are from Pakistan.



The Principal of the Preparatory, Mr. Ian Mcleod, congratulated Pakistan on their Independence and reinforced the relationship that the school has with the Pakistanis residing in South Africa.

The pupils wore their colourful traditional attire with pride. Everybody was treated to traditional savoury and sweet treats and were queuing to get a henna design. The pupils learnt about the culture and traditions of another country. Crawford Pretoria is a multi-cultural school where diversity is acknowledged and celebrated.
